Imagine arriving in an unfamiliar place and not knowing where to berth your boat, or where to find food and fresh water – Club Marine Assist can help. With just one phone call a friendly customer service assistant can provide you with directions or information on how to contact the marina operator. Club Marine Assist also offers support for a breakdown or accident, assessing the situation and helping you contact appropriate services such as water police, boat salvages and accommodation. Honda BF60 EFI outboard

Honda OutboardMaking its Australian debut at the Melbourne Boat Show is Honda’s brand new BF60. The three-cylinder, four-stoke EFI engine slots in between Honda’s acclaimed BF40/50 and BF75/90. Weighing just 110kg, the newly designed, water-cooled 998 cm3 engine incorporates Honda’s revolutionary Boosted Low Speed Torque (BLAST™) air/fuel ratio and ignition-timing technology, and lean burn control to deliver powerful start-up and acceleration together with outstanding fuel economy during cruising (ECOmo). Along with its powerful 17 amp alternator, the BF60 is also NMEA2000 compatible, which allows the engine to communicate with onboard electronics to deliver a wide-range of information to head unit displays.

Boat Names Australia has been creating boat names and marine graphics for 25 years, and this year will be launching a brand new website at the Melbourne Boat Show. The new website has more graphics, more striping, and offers more help and information then ever before. Trailer Made “I” beam Trailers

"I" Trailer MadeTrailer Made’s new aluminum “I” beam trailer will be a must see at this year’s Show. Features include adjustable winch post to suit varying length hulls, torsion suspension and Dexter hydraulic wheel brakes, as well as the usual standard of quality parts as used in all Trailer Made trailers. The design of the Trailer Made trailers is highly functional and easy to use with angled skid pads strategically placed to steer the boat onto the keel rollers for ease of launching and retrieving. The new “I” beam has an ATM from 3500 kg to 4490 kg and will be available to buy at the Show.

Yamaha Four Stroke 30 hp with EFI

Yamaha OutboardYamaha is releasing an upgraded version of the four stroke 30hp model, the F3OB. Based on the successful F30A, this latest offering from Yamaha is aimed at Australian boaters who value high fuel efficiency, low emissions and the latest outboard engine technology. At the heart of the Yamaha F30B is a 3 cylinder in-line block with a displacement of 747 cm3. Its low profile design and excellent power-to-weight ratio deliver optimum power for aluminum boats, RIBS and those seeking dependable auxiliary power. Overall Yamaha’s EFI system delivers sure fire, turnkey starts every time, regardless of temperature and atmospheric pressure.

Whittley powered by Volvo Penta

Whittley Marine Group will launch a new all-Volvo Penta sterndrive offering at the Show. Introducing Whittley’s Volvo Penta-powered range will be a Whittley Clearwater 1800 Bow Rider with a Volvo Penta 3.0GL petrol engine driving a Volvo Penta SX Single prop leg. The Volvo Penta in-line four-cylinder 3.0GL features breakerless ignition and hydraulic valve lifters for reliability and low maintenance. Its Volvo Penta SX drive is designed with a wide rudder area for precise handling and high-capacity through-the-drive exhausts for reduced sound and smell. The Clearwater 1800 displayed on the JV Marine World stand at the Boat Show is the first Volvo Penta-powered Whittley off the line.

Sea Pen advanced dry docking technology

Sea Pen is proud to boast of the only system on the market that allows boat owners to dry dock the boat at water level. It is manufactured in Australia and a finalist in the 2007 and 2008 Australian Marine Industry Innovation award. Sea Pen suits boats of all makes from six metres through to 30, and is easy to use in most mooring situations. Boats moored in a Sea Pen are kept pristine without the need for antifouling. Whitsunday Rent a Yacht

Whitsunday Rent a Yacht has added eight new skipper-yourself vessels to its fleet for 2009, and they will all be available to book at this year’s Boat Show. They include two new monohull Beneteau sailing yachts, the two-cabin Oceanis 31 and the brand new five-cabin Beneteau 50.5. Also new are five new catamaran sailing yachts – two of the Seawind 1160, winner of the Australian Sailboat of the Year, a Perry 43 with air conditioning for those long summer days, the Beneteau Lagoon 420 with four roomy cabins, and the Benetau Lagoon 380. Last but not least is the motor cruiser Highlander 35, produced by top European boat builder Fountaine Pijot.

Leon and Paul Savage’s Streaker Boats, the biggest single exhibitor at this year’s Show, is launching a full walk-through version of the Streaker 545. The new 545 walk-through follows last year’s successful launch of the 502 walk-through and the 635 Commander hard-top. With its new models representing major upgrades in functionality, Streaker is offering something more substantial than just a fresh new look to justify the purchase. Streaker reports continuing demand for its boats despite the economic downturn. In addition to its own brand, Streaker Boats will also display the latest Quintrex boats and Yamaha WaveRunners.

Leading plate boat builder Bar Crusher is launching its new 760 Hard Top (HT) at the Show. Designed and built for long-range offshore sportsfishing, the tough new flagship is designed to deliver the ocean-going capability of a gameboat with trailerable convenience. With a massive 8-metre LOA and an engine rating up to 300hp, its comforts include comfortable skipper and passenger seating, full length bunks, fridge and sink. It is packaged on a tandem Easytow breakaway trailer with an approximate tow weight of 2500 kg, and typically priced from $110,000 to $120,000 depending on freight, engine and options.

Anchor Right Australia’s new Sarca Excel Anchor is designed to be the most environmentally friendly anchor available. Celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, Dunbier Marine Products has released a new range of ultra-strong aluminium multi-roller trailers for this year’s Melbourne Boat Show. Models are available to suit boats up to 6.1 metres, 6.6 metres, 7 metres and 7.5 metres. Constructed on fully rolled and welded aluminium frames, the Australian-made dual-axle trailers boast superior strength-to-weight ratios for lighter, more economical towing on the road with the benefits of drive-on/drive-off capability at the ramp. Super heavy duty wind-up and swing-up jockey wheels are fitted as standard, with tube adjustments available to match individual vehicles. Dunbier trailers look better, tow better and last longer.

Evinrude has announced the newest and smallest of the E-TEC family of low emission outboard motors with the introduction of the 25hp and 30hp, the world’s smallest production direct-injection outboards. The new engines are easy to own and operate, their lightweight design making them easy to fit and transport and have high output alternators. The quiet, environmentally friendly E-TEC design produces extremely low carbon monoxide at idle, low particle emissions, and no crankcase oil to dispose of. The new Evinrude25hp and 30hp will be available on the Evinrude Stand at the 2009 Melbourne Boat Show.

2009 Malibu Wakesetter VLX

Malibu’s new Wakesetter VLX aims to transform the inboard industry. With aggressive new styling, the VLX offers another level to what has become a benchmark in wakeboard boats and is set to be a star of the show. It features a brand new hull and deck design, new interior and new dash layout and is available in both wake and diamond hull versions. The Wakesetter VLX won’t be the only new Malibu on the Regal Marine stand at the 2009 Melbourne Boat Show, with the all new Sunscape 21 LSV, the Revolutionary Response FXi and the 21 V Ride also making appearances.

Icom MXA-5000 AIS Receiver

AIS is the latest technology in Marine collision avoidance. An AIS receiver once interfaced with your compatible chart plotter (or PC chart plotter) and GPS can be set to alert when a possible collision course is detected, which increases your Marine safety. The Icom MXA-5000 AIS connects between your existing VHF marine radio (either Icom or non-Icom units are compatible), without the need for an additional antenna. LeisureCat Australia’s new 6000 Brumby retains all the hallmarks of previous LeisureCat models, but with a soft top. The moulded, curved laminated windscreen offers more than adequate protection from any errant spray that may result from the ride. A unique key feature of the 6000 Brumby is the special spray rail joining both hulls forward to trap any water rushing up from the tunnel as the bow rides down the swell and easily up over the next. Prestige RV Marine will have two brand new boats at this year’s Show: the Haines Traveller TC165 and the TC170. The TC165 has a cockpit bigger then most in this size of boat. The cabin features an ingenious hatch for easy access to the anchor via a walk-through windscreen whilst options include a lockable seat with storage which can be fitted in the middle of the two seats or at the stern. The TC170 is a cuddy for the family. A great feature in the TC170 is the infill-bunked cuddy cabin, ideal for shelter in rough or showery conditions, for over-nighters and also great for storage.

Raymarine will have three exciting new products at the Melbourne Boat Show. A Series Systems are available in three screen sizes and a range comprising two chartplotters and three chartplotter/ High Definition Digital fishfinder combinations, the A50, A50D, A57D and A7OD. Ultrabond aluminium repair rods

Ultrabond is used to repair or fabricate aluminium and other non-ferrous metals, including die cast, with a propane gas torch or oxy acetylene It is used to to fix holes in boats, repair propellers, fabricate additions to boats and repair fishing equipment. Anyone can use the rods in three easy steps – clean the metal with a stainless steel brush, heat the metal with a propane or oxy torch, and test the metal temperature with Ultrabond.
