Whittley goes Volvo Penta-powered at Boat Show

June 15th, 2009

Whittley Marine Group will launch a new all-Volvo Penta sterndrive offering at the Melbourne Boat Show, which runs from 2 to 6 July at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre.

Introducing Whittley’s Volvo Penta-powered range will be a Whittley Clearwater 1800 Bow Rider with a Volvo 3.0GL petrol engine driving a Volvo SX Single prop leg.

The Volvo Penta in-line four-cylinder 3.0GL features breakerless ignition and hydraulic valve lifters for reliability and low maintenance.

Its Volvo Penta SX drive is designed with a wide rudder area for precise handling and high-capacity through-the-drive exhausts for reduced sound and smell.

The Clearwater 1800 displayed on the JV Marine World stand at the Boat Show is the first Volvo Penta-powered Whittley off the line.

Every Whittley sterndrive built from now on will offer Volvo Penta petrol power ranging from the 3.0GL up to the big-block 8.1 litre V8, all paired with a corresponding Volvo single or dual prop leg.

Whittley will also launch a new range of Whittley Inflatables at the Show, displaying a selection of sizes and hull types on the Geelong Boating Centre stand.

Melbourne Boat Show runs from Thursday 2 July to Monday 6 July at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre. Opening hours are 10am to 9pm daily except Sunday, when the show closes at 7pm, and Monday when it closes at 8pm.
